RE: NASCAR disappointment at Darlington
Real racing is super late model dirt cars. 2450#,no engine size limits, you pick your tire compound, caution flag lamps do not count. If you ever saw Bloomquist,Smith,Boggs,Moran and 22 more of the best dirt drivers in the country, go at it for 100 laps on the high banks of Cherokee ,you saw the best racing there is.

Update on tire situation. General warranties original equipment tires for six years from date of purchase. Have been in contact with their claims department, they are having the two tires picked up for analysis. Waiting to see the outcome.

General load range "E" tires
Anyone had any experience with General tire company replacement program? Blew two tires in 400 mile trip this week. By my log book tires have 1561 miles, plus 1000 approximate delivery miles from Newmar factory to dealer in Columbia,S.C.
Trailer is American Star 34,bought new in June 03. Always stored inside, tires were aired to Maximun cold pressure before leaving. Temp. in low 80s, 55mph. One blew sidewall on left side, other threw tread on right side. Significant damage on left side, minor on right side. One on front axle, other on rear axle.

Update on fuel pump. Bought NAPA in-line pump,filter and 6 feet of 5/16 steel fuel line. Mounted pump inside tool box, to keep idle eyes and hands away. Plumbed line in hard pipe,except in two locations for vibration. Welded hard line into filler neck, did not know that GMs now have inner linner in fuel hose.
Mounted illuminated rocker switch under dash.
Works nice, and nothing visible from outside.

Wanted the pump for couple of reasons. Do not have to haul extra gas cans for boat, or go get 2 gallons for lawn equipment. Install "T" with shut off in tool box, wire extra switch to tool box compartment, then pump from tank to boat tanks , log splitter,mower, etc.

Bought tank from RDS in Perry, Fla.Looked at Transfer-Flow and American Tank. Transfer was about $2200, American $1450. All certified for gasoline per DOT and also legal in California. Vapor recovery system in my truck certified for 100 gallons.
The question was for advice on type of pump!

Just read the news, I am so sorry. We had the opportunity to see this old dog just two weeks before Richard rescued him. The pictures do not do justice to the change that was brought to his life. I think about all the good this dog and his savior ARE doing for strays across this country.
R.I.P. ,Old Fella, a truer Southern Gentleman and Ambassador could not have been found.

Having been a construction electrician for the past 37 years,I have worn out a few hundred pair of jeans. Started with Levi and Lee, and dropped them when they went off-shore. I have had a few pair of Diamond Cut,and Carhardt. You have to pick through the Carhardts to find American made. Presently wear Pointer Brand, made in Bristol, Tn., in business over 75 years, no lay-offs.

This may be misunderstood by some. I believe in God, but am not devoutly religious. But this all dog that I had the pain of seeing as a pitiful stray at Modoc Campground, has had me talking to the Lord over the past few years in ways that a lot of people can not understand. There have many occassions of wet eyes and trembling chin in Belvedere over this old dog.

Firestone tires
Has anyone ever had any luck with tire company covering damage to vechile from defective tire? My situation is 2001 2500HD, bought new on 11-11-2001. On 11-21-2007, with 31,700 miles on truck, the right rear tire threw tread, $900 damage to truck. I took the remaining three tires off, but keep them and the defective tire with its thrown tread for inspection.
Tire warranty info pamphlet says 6 year pro-rated adjustment. That puts me 10 days past limit.
